Professional photography sets first impressions

People tend to form their first impression faster than lightning strikes. Professional brand photography will help capture potential clients in a flash. But, you’ll want to ensure you stay consistent with your brand, messaging and the look and feel of your photographs represent you and your business.

Professional photography increases engagement

We can all agree that these days visual content outweighs text-only content. Remember that saying… a picture tells a thousand words. However, if you’re still on the fence here are a few facts to get you over the line.

  • 65% of marketing executives say photos, videos, illustrations, and infographics are key to communicating your brand story.
  • Facebook posts made by businesses that included images achieved a whopping 87% more of all engagements whilst 51% of B2B marketers prioritise creating visual assets as part of their content marketing strategy

Typically, you need images and more importantly, you need good quality, on-brand professional photos that tell and sell your business story and services.

Brand consistency is key

You might have your logo, colours and fonts down, but if your photography doesn’t match, you’re probably due for another shoot. Consider your overall business brand strategy and how professional photos can enhance it.

Having all of your visual elements work to reflect your brand strategy is vital in maintaining brand consistency. Generally, consistent brands who adhere to their brand strategy are 3 to 4 times more likely to experience brand visibility. Plus, 90% of consumers expect their experience to be consistent across all channels and devices used to interact with brands.

You may want to share your professional photos across your business social media accounts, on your website or in blog posts. Maybe even in the graphics for your paid ads or email newsletter.

Tell your business story with professional photos

As we mentioned earlier, we need to set a strategy or have an understanding of the current one. Generally, think about who you are and what your brand is about. Then, determine what your audience is into and what you want them to think, feel and do when they see your professional photos.

Are you a cute, whimsical children’s party entertainer appealing to mums with a big party budget? Wanting your customers to feel excited, inspired and entertained by your service? Or maybe you’re a hyper-masculine, high-end menswear brand hoping to capture the attention and dollars of high-rolling bachelors? Whoever you are and whatever story you’re trying to tell, it should be unique and clear. Getting professional photography taken tells your business story.

Create a photography shot list

It’s good to come with a basic outline or plan for what types of professional photos you want for your Geelong business. Generally, some photos just happen naturally throughout your shoot. However, our resident photographer, Greg, devises a shot list with your input to make sure every image you are looking for is taken.

This might include:

  • headshots of you and your team
  • photos of your desk and surrounding workspace
  • snaps of the office dogs
  • flatlays of your opt-ins
  • individual shots of each of your products
  • general shots around your workspace

If you know exactly what team members need to be involved, or the specific products you need photos of make a note to ensure nothing important is missed.
