Professional Photography Sets First Impressions

People tend to form their first impression faster than lightning strikes, so everything you share has to seriously wow the audience first go!

Professional brand photography will help capture potential clients in a flash. Displaying high-quality photographs of your product and/or service across your digital presence is critical to convey consistency and professionalism and set a tone and reputation for your brand.

BRAND PHOTOGRAPHY INCREASES ENGAGEMENT

We can all agree that these days visual content outweighs text-only content; remember that saying a picture tells a thousand words? If you’re still on the fence, here are a few facts to get you over the line:

You need images, and more importantly, you need good quality, on-brand images that tell and sell your business story and services.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY, AND PHOTOGRAPHY INCREASES BRAND CONSISTENCY

Your visual identity is made up of lots of different elements, including photography. While you might have your logo, colours and fonts down, if your photography doesn’t match, it’s probably time you organise a shoot to get some updated content. And this time, your brand strategy needs to be considered within the shot list, which we’ll explain further shortly.

Having all of your visual elements work to reflect your brand strategy is vital in maintaining brand consistency. Brands presented consistently are 3 to 4 times more likely to experience brand visibility, and 90% of consumers expect their experience to be consistent across all channels and devices used to interact with brands.

You may want to share your photos across your business social media accounts, on your website or in blog posts. Maybe even in the graphics for your paid ads or email newsletter.

UNDERSTAND THE STORY YOU WANT TO TELL

To accurately reflect your brand through your visual identity, you should have a strategy or understanding of your brands’ story before any photoshoot.

Are you a cute, whimsical children’s party entertainer appealing to mums with a big party budget and wanting them to feel excited, inspired and entertained by your service? Or maybe you’re a hyper-masculine, high-end menswear brand hoping to capture the attention and dollars of high-rolling bachelors? Whoever you are and whatever story you’re trying to tell, it should be unique and clear to you before you get your photos taken so that you don’t waste your time, effort or money on something that doesn’t fit.

CREATE A BASIC LIST OF KEY SHOTS YOU WANT TO HAVE

Having enough visuals in advance means you can plan with a strategy in mind, which is why it’s crucial to create a shot list to get the most out of your shoot

Don’t fret if you’re not 100% sure what to include in your shot list; we will always help you with that. Some images might happen naturally throughout your shoot, but it’s good to come with a basic outline or plan for what types of photos you’ll need before you start taking them. This helps reduce the chance of someone or something being missed.

Your shot list might include:

  • headshots of you and your team,
  • photos of your desk and surrounding workspace,
  • snaps of the office dogs,
  • flat lays of your opt-ins,
  • individual shots of each of your products,
  • or other general ideas.
